We look after the health needs of around 190,000 people across North Kirklees, including Dewsbury, Batley, Mirfield, Heckmondwike, Cleckheaton, Birstall, Liversedge and Ravensthorpe.
Our CCG faces some challenging health issues in the North Kirklees population. These are:
- By 2030 20% of our population will be over 65
- Infant death rates – they’re reducing, but still too high
- Smoking related illness
- Obesity and lack of physical activity – especially amongst children
- Dewsbury – 1 in 3 adults have a long term illness.
We are looking closely at how we deliver services so we can help people improve their health and there’ll be more details here as we make progress.
