We held a joint Governing Body meeting with NHS Greater Huddersfield CCG on Wednesday to make a decision about how we can create better healthcare services across Kirklees.
This decision will support the development of better healthcare services within the community with an emphasis on care being closer to people’s homes or within their homes. It will also help our CCGs focus on services that help patients’ recovery and promote independence – you can find out more here.
Both Boards decided to use the process of ‘competitive dialogue’ to procure community services. Competitive dialogue permits discussion of different options before choosing a particular solution.
We will begin the procurement process in October 2014, with services being in place by October 2015. Care provided in the community includes community matrons, district nurses and a range of therapy and rehabilitation services, find out more here.
