GP appointments for urgent health problems on Saturday and Sunday mornings

You may have seen in the local news that patients registered with a North Kirklees GP practice are able to arrange GP appointments for urgent health problems on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

This is great news and this is made possible following our investment of an additional £300,000 in primary care services to extend current GP hours.

The new service is accessed via a telephone hotline by calling 01924 351499 between 8am and 11.30am each weekend.  The service, provided by Curo Health – a local federation of GP practices – will assess the patient’s condition by phone and, if appropriate, offer them an appointment at one of five health centres across North Kirklees.  You can read more about this here.

Patients can also call NHS 111 when they need urgent medical advice or attention for a non-life threating health problem. NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right medical help and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
