Our plans for the future must reflect the needs of local people, take into account national guidelines, address health inequalities and ensure value for money.
They must also recognise the challenges we face as a result of a growing local population, an increasing number of people with long-term conditions and the availability of more innovative technologies, drugs and treatments.
In addition, while setting out our priorities, we have to to acknowledge the CCG’s financial position and the need to deliver sufficient savings to enable us to fund our plans and balance our books. It’s clear that in the longer term, we will also have to make some difficult decisions about what we can and cannot afford to commission.
You can read more about our priorities in our two year operational plan here.
